I learnt the craft of designing and programming websites almost 30 years ago. I have been familiar with certain programming languages ever since, as well as photo editing tools.
At the beginning of the 2000s, I worked as an art photographer. I had various exhibitions in galleries and museums.
In 2020, with the advent of blockchain technology and artificial intelligence, I became intensively involved with NFTs and started creating digital images and animations. As Tiegenhof, I mainly publish GIF animations. I explore and research art from the past and give these works a new life, a new look, new colours. I scrutinise the work and its history and place it in a new context. It is important to me that the resulting images are aesthetically convincing and unique. I also try to consolidate my personal style so that it is recognisable in the GIFs.
I publish AI photos as Koby. Sometimes I generate new images from my personal archive, sometimes I create them with prompts. I create new visual worlds. I like the imperfect, the surreal and the humour. These are often only recognisable at second glance. The pictures have a scope for interpretation that allows the viewer to engage with the picture and the art in their own way.
